Alex Sockell, PhD Cancer Genomics | Biotechnology | Personalized Medicine
I am a scientist dedicated to advancing personalized medicine through strategic innovation in healthcare and biotechnology. I am passionate about helping oncology and biotech companies tackle scientific and go-to-market challenges. Currently, I lead cancer genomics at PacBio, where I contribute to product development and go-to-market strategies, foster collaborations with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and deliver presentations showcasing the results of these partnerships. During my PhD at Stanford under the guidance of Christina Curtis and Polly Fordyce, I developed a microwell platform to investigate how intra-tumor heterogeneity influences cancer growth and drug response. This work involved characterizing the subclonal evolution and growth dynamics of tumor organoids in high-throughput systems. In addition, I have experience as a consultant and investor in biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in scientific advising, consulting, or other opportunities.
